V2I-Aided Platooning Systems With Delay Awareness

This paper studies the vehicle platooning system based on vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication, where all vehicles in platoon upload their driving state information to roadside unit (RSU), and RSU makes control decisions with assistance of edge computing. By addressing delay concern, a approach is proposed achieve plant stability string stability. The effects time headway, communication computing delays are quantified. velocity size stable calculated, which show impacts radio parameters such as massive MIMO antennas frequency band configuration. handover performance between RSUs V2I-based quantified by considering RSU's coverage size, demonstrates that should be appropriately chosen, order meet V2I's Quality-of-Service constraints.
